Camperdown advanced to the quarter-finals round of the ISSA/Digicel Manning Cup on Saturday after they defeated Holy Trinity 2-1 at the National Stadium in St Andrew.
Camperdown won the two-leg tie 2-1 on aggregate, as the first-leg at Stadium East on Wednesday, drew 0-0.
The victory also ensured Camperdown’s qualification to the all-island Champions Cup, with Holy Trinity relegated to play for the secondary trophy of the Walker Cup knockout.
In another early match played on Saturday, Jonathon Grant defeated Excelsior 2-1 at Winchester Park but failed to advance, as they lost the two-leg tie 4-2 on aggregate as Excelsior had won the first-leg 3-0.
Camperdown’s victory was achieved by goals from Tivelle Edwards in the 17th minute, Jeovanni Laing in the 18th and Shawn Daley in the 69th. Holy Trinity got their consolation goal in the 55th minute through Jhemari Glade.
Camperdown controlled most of the action in the first half, pushing back their opponents deep into their defensive third of the pitch, although not creating many clear chances.

Holy Trinity responded with an improved performance in the second stanza, while creating some good scoring opportunities.
A defensive blunder by Holy Trinity allowed Camperdown to open the scoring after Edwards benefited and placed the ball wide of custodian Kevaughn Ricketts.
Camperdown immediately won the ball back at the restart, and their offensive thrust resulted in Shaquille Bradford being fouled inside the area. Laing converted from the spot.
Holy Trinity’s Glade scored from a distance, catching the hyperactive goalkeeper De Shawn White off his line with Daley ending the scoring with a header from a corner.
