Deadly coronavirus strikes again, second US patient diagnosed

A second case of the deadly coronavirus has been reported in the United States.

This time the virus has been detected in the midwestern state of Illinois.

Health officials who made the announcement on Friday (Jan 24) revealed that the woman in her late 60s returned from China on Jan. 13.

According to the health officials, the woman had initially shown no signs of illness.

However, between three to four days after returning to the US, the woman phoned her doctor to report that she had begun to feel ill.

Earlier this week, a Washington state man became the first US patient to be diagnosed with the coronavirus.

He was also said to have recently returned from a trip to the outbreak’s epicenter in central China.
