Forty seven cannabis licenses granted

Since Jamaica has developed its own cannabis industry, things seem to be motoring along with recent news that forty-seven licenses have been granted as of September 30.

This was revealed by Senator Floyd Green, State Minister in the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries who further mentioned that 12 additional licenses are set to be approved and a number of conditional licenses for finalization.

Meanwhile, Mr Green pointed out that proactive steps are being taken to fast-track the licence-approval process by the Cannabis Licensing Authority (CLA).

“We really want to be able to say that it really should take you a maximum of six months to get your licence in Jamaica”, he said.
