Jamaica College (JC) pulled themselves back from defeat for the second time this season against Wolmer’s as they scored a late goal to draw their Digicel/ISSA Manning Cup schoolboy football match 2-2 at Stadium East on Wednesday (Oct 16).
The two teams met on September 16 when a lightning strike that affected several player put an end to the game.
On Wednesday (Oct 16), with Wolmer’s leading 2-1 from September 16, the six minutes that were played were somewhat ill-tempered with Wolmer’s player Ty McKetty and assistant coach Sean Fraser both being showed the red card by referee Karl Tyrell.
Fraser allegedly made comments about Tyrell after substitute Tajay Grant scored in the 88th minute to pull JC level. He was disputing the goal, with Grant lobbing goalkeeper Ronaldo Webster. Fraser and the Wolmer’s delegation complained that Grant was offside.
All the players who were affected by the lightning bolt took the field for Wednesday’s match.
