KC rally to beat Vauxhall 3-1 in Manning Cup

Vauxhall keeper tries to stop a KC striker from finding the back of his net.

Defending champions Kingston College (KC) overcame a deficit to win their first-leg clash with Vauxhall in the second round of the Digicel/ISSA Manning Cup schoolboy on Wednesday (Oct 23).

KC won the clash 3-1 after putting in an improved second-half performance at Stadium East.

Kemar Britton handed Vauxhall an 18th-minute lead, which they maintained until the end of the first half. Three goals early in the second half, however, swung the match in KC’s favour.

Jevaun Shepherd turned in a cross from the right into his own net in the 50th minute for KC’s equalising goal. Jamari Morrison scored KC’s go-ahead goal in the 70th. Dwayne Atkinson scored goal number 3. The winner of the two-leg tie on aggregate will advance to the quarter-finals of the tournament.
