Fifteen years ago, Bajan soca musician Rupee was the riding high with a worldwide hit Tempted To Touch. The song went to No. 44 on the United Kingdom pop chart and No. 39 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Two years ago, he did a collaboration, titled Tipsy, with Florida-based Black Shadow Records.

Now, he is making a return with Most Wanted.

Produced by Madmen Productions, Most Wanted could be what Rupee needs to get back on the charts.

Born in Europe, Rupee moved to Barbados in 1985. He won a talent competition while in college, and this opened the door for a career in music.

Rupee is aiming to make a big return with Most Wanted.

Tempted To Touch was first released in 2002, and it was featured on his sophomore album. A year later, it was included on the VP Records Soca Gold 2003 compilation. But it was in 2004 that the song took off globally.

The success of Tempted To Touch saw Rupee signing with Atlantic Records for the release of his major-label debut 1 on 1. Other hits from Rupee included What Happens In De Party and Blame It On De Music.

Rupee, whose real name is Rupert Clarke, has collaborated with several acts including Destra, Red Rat, Rihanna, Lil Kim, Shaggy, Fay-Ann Lyons and Ricardo Drue.

His albums include 2001’s Blame It On De Music, 2002’s Leave A Message, 2003’s Thisisrupee and 2004’s 1 on 1.

Two years ago, Rupee signed a deal with New York-based electronic dance music label Ultra Records.
