Shaw undergoes medical tests after match against Mexico

BUZZ understands that Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw was taken to hospital, after she clashed heads with a Mexican player at the 2020 Concacaf Women’s Olympic Qualifying Championship on Wednesday (Jan 29) in Edinburg, Texas.

The clash happened as the Jamaican striker went up against the Mexican defender, Arianna Romero, at HEB Park.

While the Mexican defender walked away from the incident, seemingly unharmed, Shaw was taken to hospital to undergo testing.

Mexico won the match-up 1-0, in the game’s 36th-minute.

It was an intense game between the two teams until Mexico’s Renae Cuellar score the games only goal.

The Jamaicans searched for an equalizer well into the second half, but the Mexican defensive midfielder Rebeca Bernal proved successful in defending against the threat.

The Reggae Girlz will next play Canada on Saturday.
