The 22-time winners of the annual tournament, St George’s, also advanced to the all-island Champions Cup, which will be contested by the top eight teams in Corporate Area Manning Cup and their rural counterparts in the daCosta Cup.

Goals by Naheem Cameron in the 24th minute and Nathaniel Campbell two minutes into first half added time for St George’s were nullified by a penalty from Mario Simms in the 15th minute and Joel Powell in the 80th minute.

Powell gave Mona hopes of advancing on goals scored when he got a goal, but they were thwarted by a resilient St George’s, who attacked constantly for the rest of the match.

St George’s had the better of play for most the match, as Chantomoi Taylor also hit the crossbar after being sent through and facing goalkeeper Jabez Cleghorn in the first half.
