Entertainment has played an integral role in the offerings at PAN, and this year is no different. The annual event where pan chicken men and women from across the island compete for bragging rights as the PAN Champion culminates with a grand finale this Sunday (Oct 27) at Grizzly’s Plantation Cove in St Ann.
Twenty-eight competitors, including two Wild Cards, will showcase their culinary skills at the event, which is hosted by CB Foods.
Agent Sasco and Tarrus Riley are ready to delight patrons with songs from their notorious catalogues. This is the second time that Agent Sasco will be hitting the PAN stage. In 2017, patrons in Portland stood in the pouring rain as he melodiously sang his hits.
‘It’s great because it brings together two pillars of Jamaican culture — music and pan chicken.’— Agent Sasco
“PAN Finals has become one of the legit calendar events for the year and provides patrons with a full experience. It’s great because it brings together two pillars of Jamaican culture — music and pan chicken. I am happy to be performing again,” said Agent Sasco. “I will be performing with my band the Sound Agents. With the live band, there is much more flexibility so we will be performing all the favorites from the catalogue, some with a different twist.”
‘Just come out and have a great time.’— Tarrus Riley
Singer Tarrus Riley is just as eager to perform at the event. He said: “It will be all high energy and good vibes. I know the patrons always look forward to events like these to have a good time, and it is a smart move on the part of CB. Just come out and have a great time.”
The event kicks off at 1 pm and admission is free. Comedian Dufton ‘Duffy’ Shepherd and broadcaster the Fluffy Diva Miss Kitty will guide the day’s proceedings.
