The US Embassy in Kingston on Sunday (Dec 1) draped itself in red lights as a show of support for persons affected by the HIV virus and AIDS in Jamaica.

Sunday was World Aids Day, a day which is assigned to raising awareness of the virus and build partnerships in tackling the issues associated with it.

The US Embassy in Kingston said in an Instagram statement that it “stands in solidarity with those people in Jamaica living with HIV”.

“We honour those who have passed away and we acknowledge the dignity of every individual affected by HIV,” the embassy said.
