US record label signs Koffee two weeks after Grammy win

Jamaican entertainer Koffee continues to make major moves.

Koffee is big! Seriously, the Jamaican teenager has been having a career that is probably the envy of many other entertainers.

On Friday, United States-based record label RCA signed the Toast, giving her a firm footing in the US market.

Koffee was originally signed to Columbia UK, but in order to make the transition to the US, she needed a label there, and that’s where RCA stepped in.

Prior to this announcement, Koffee had been having a superb year, becoming the first female solo act and the youngest person to take home the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album for her EP, Rapture.

Koffee’s rise is expected to benefit not only her but other members of the reggae fraternity, as her exposure is certain to open more doors for other Jamaican artistes as more and more labels look for new talent.

It’s a good thing that Koffee doesn’t like to boast because she is still a few days shy of her 20th birthday and has accomplished so much during her time in the industry.
