High-riding 6ix member Daddy1 is set to release his first EP on December 6. The still-untitled project will contain, you guessed correctly, six tracks.
“I have an EP coming out on December 6. I worked with producers such as Hemton Music, Shab-Don and 6ix is Real Records,” said Daddy1 in an interview with BUZZ.
“Squash always say put in the work.”— Daddy1
Over the past year, Daddy1’s profile has risen, thanks to hits, including Out Here, Custom and Anthem. His latest single, Bro Gad, has also been making waves in the streets.
“I always wanted to become an artiste, and music is my life,” said the Salt Spring, St James, resident.
Daddy1 grew up in a household with one sister and two brothers. He was raised by his mother who believed in her son’s talent from an early age.
“My family always supported me from I showed interest in music. My mom said: ‘One day you’re going to be a big artiste’. That alone motivated me because from the family believe inna me and the community believe inna me, then the world will believe inna me,” said Daddy1.
Daddy1 whose real name is Adrian Daley, says he gets support from his fellow 6ix members, including Squash and Chronic Law.
“6ix a mi family. They always believed in me. A loyalty we say. Squash believe inna me and Chronic Law, and we all believe inna each other. Squash always say put in the work, work twice as hard to reach up to your level,” he said.
Daddy1 is booked for a number of local gigs leading into the Christmas season.
