It’s been a rough year for many, but many artistes seem to still be getting their work out there as the world was forced to shelter at home/
One such act is dancehall’s Sean Paul, who shared that he had more than 600 million streams of his catalogue on Spotify during 2020.
Sean Paul shared the service’s data with his Instagram fans, revealing that he had 625.9 million streams on the platform, which amounted to 32.1 million hours by 68.8 million listeners across 92 countries! Now, those are some pretty impressive figures by the Like Glue deejay who was touring heavily prior to the coronavirus pandemic.
For an understanding of how huge those figures are, Popcaan, one of the artistes at the forefront of the genre’s latest wave of stars, had 148.7 million streams, amounting to 7.5 million hours. That support came from 16 million listeners across 92 countries.
‘Bad Gyal’ Ce’Cile, who has focused more on the production side of the business in recent times, also enjoyed 5.5 million streams of her music during the year, totaling 298.9 thousand hours from 1.6 million listeners.
