‘You’re going to pay me to turn back.’
Um, no we won’t! The hype ‘just went up’ for Disney’s upcoming adventure movie, Jungle Cruise.
The film, based on Disney’s real-life attraction of the same name, takes on an otherworldly, supernatural feel as leads Emily Blunt and Dwyane ‘The Rock’ Johnson team up for an epic ride.
Set during the early 20th century, Jungle Cruise follows riverboat captain named Frank, who takes scientist Lily Houghton and her brother McGregor on a mission into the Amazon jungle to find the Tree of Life — believed to possess healing powers.
All the while, the trio must fight against dangerous wild animals, a supernatural entity determined to halt the journey, and a competing German expedition.
Okay, so while the movie doesn’t see its worldwide release until July 2020, Disney teased the first trailer and official poster on Friday and the reaction has not been all great.
Well, BUZZ fam, check out the first trailer below:
Jungle Cruise may be right up Spanish director Jaume Collet-Serra’s alley as he continues to establish himself as one of Hollywood’s most promising thriller/psychological horror filmmakers.
