A yellow-haired Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce opened her IAAF World Athletics Championships Doha 2019 campaign in style.

Running in heat one of the women’s 100m she breezed through to a very fast 10.80s while easing up to the line. That time sent a clear message to the rest of the world, as it’s the fastest time ever in the heats of the women’s 100 metres at a World Athletics Championships.
Like her time, Fraser-Pryce’s hair also made a statement. Many track fans had been anticipating what colour it would be, and Fraser-Pryce did not disappoint.

“The hair, it is like sunshine. Jamaica is hot, Doha is hot, so I decided to go for yellow. There are so many talented women. I think it is a blessing to be able to do this again,” Fraser-Pryce said.
The semi-finals and final of the women’s 100 metres come up on day three of the championships.
