Veteran dancehall artiste General Degree was in concerned citizen mode on Wednesday (May 5) as he took to social media platform, Instagram, to share a photo of a broken light post.
According to the artiste, he noticed the poor condition the light post was in while travelling in traffic along the Mandela Highway heading towards Portmore.
While admitting that he was not an expert in road infrastructure, General Degree noted that he was concerned about the light fixture.
“I am not an expert but something nuh right yah so,” said General Degree, who shared a photo of the damaged post.
“Concerned citizen of Jamaica… who must see dis,” he added as he sought to alert the relevant authorities to the issue.
According to the Jamaica Public Service Company (JPSCo), the entity responsible for street lighting, over 525 street lights have been stolen across the island since the start of the year.
