KFC Jamaica is celebrating its 45th ‘birthday’ on Thursday, June 18 – the day it opened its first restaurant on Old Hope Road in Kingston.

Can you imagine life without KFC, BUZZ fam?

*sheds tear of pride*

Several members of the Restaurants of Jamaica, local franchise owners, revelled in the milestone with a literal party.

“We’re celebrating 45 years of sharing delicious food, good vibes & legendary moments in this amazing country! Today, we cut cake where it all began on Old Hope Road! BIG up to our fantastic teams & customers islandwide for making all of this possible! #BIG45 #HappyBirthdayKFC,” the company tweeted.

According to its website, KFC Jamaica was “born” officially on June 18, 1975, when the Myers family opened the first KFC restaurant at 170 Old Hope Road, Kingston 6, on licence from Hueblein International.

Currently under franchise by Restaurants of Jamaica (ROJ), the finger-licking eatery has some 35 KFC restaurants operating in 11 parishes, as of March 2018.

Happy 45th anniversary, KFC Jamaica! Please, never change.
