Comedian Majah Hype is out on US$15,000 bail after he was arrested in Georgia for two felony counts of kidnapping, as well as simple battery and terroristic threats on Thursday, January 28.
According to the booking report from Cobb Sheriff’s Office, obtained by BUZZ, the popular comedian, whose real name is Joseph Nigel Theron, was taken into police custody on Thursday night and spent the night in county jail in Georgia.
The comedian posted bail and was released at 1:24 am on Friday.
The document further revealed the New York native has four tattoos, including one which reads “Kirby” on his right arm.
It is understood that Theron’s latest arrest stems from allegations which surfaced in December 2020 when his estranged wife, Latisha Kirby, accused him of abuse and manipulation.
During the very public break-up, both Theron and Kirby both took to social media to air their private affairs, with Majah Hype accusing his former romantic partner of being a promiscuous woman.
Kirby also revealed private conversations between herself and the comedian during an Instagram live, as she sought to share her side of the story.
Intimate videos soon surfaced online, which Kirby accused Theron of leaking.
Theron has staunchly denied Kirby’s allegations of abuse and leaking the videos.
