Mavado son’s sentencing postponed

Dancehall artiste Mavado with son, Dante Brooks

The sentencing of Dante Brooks, the 18-year-old son of dancehall artiste Mavado who was found guilty of arson, murder and possession of illegal firearm has been postponed.

The postponement took place after Brooks lawyer, Peter Champagnie asked for time to peruse the social enquiry report which was served on him this morning and for the prosecution to make adjustments to the victim impact statement.

Sentencing has been pushed back to March 19 in the home circuit court.

Brooks and his co-accused 23-year-old Andre Hines was convicted for the 2018 murder of Lorenzo Thomas in the St Andrew community of Cassava Piece.
