The Bernie Sanders meme from Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’s inauguration last week is the gift that keeps on giving.
And with a Vice-President of Jamaican descent now in the White House, it was only a matter of time before we got in on the action, and the legendary Bob Marley was the perfect assist.
In the meme, a warmly-clad Sanders is seen wearing a Burton parka, mittens and mask from the inauguration while an image of the iconic Marley is superimposed next to him.
The image was shared by none other than Marley’s wife, Rita, who captioned the Twitter post, “From the archives?”
That wasn’t Marley’s only showing at the inauguration as his song Could You Be Loved was also featured on the official playlist.
Since the photo of the socially distanced Sanders went viral, he’s told late night host Seth Meyers, “I was just sitting there, trying to keep warm, trying to pay attention to what’s going on”.
He also released a sweatshirt with the image for sale on his website, with all proceeds going to charity.
