It seems that Shenseea’s recent move to join Sal and Co-Management and XO Records is already paying dividends as she continues to make the moves that could make her a mainstream act.
The most recent step up is that on Thursday (August 26), the dancehall star made a surprise guest appearance at Kanye West’s third listening party for his upcoming album ‘Donda‘ in Chicago.
Dressed in all black, the ShenYeng Boss is seen beside a number of stars to include West himself, Travis Scott, Da Baby, Marilyn Manson, and others as they take the stage at the event, notably standing in a replica of Ye’s childhood home.
Shenseea is also heard during the event as she lends her vocals to West’s Pure Souls which features rapper Roddy Rich, providing a new outro to the track. However, it is uncertain if she will make the final cut when the album is finally released.
There has been high anticipation for Donda, the album named in honour of West’s late mother. It has been delayed a few times and following this third listening party, fans are hopeful that the album is finally ready.
Shenseea’s guest appearance has got social media buzzing with fans believing that she has now stepped into the big times. The Run Run artiste even started to trend on Twitter at one point following the event.
One person commented “here’s to hoping Shenseea ends up on the level of Nicki and Rihanna. The Caribbean trinity would be complete,” while another fan quipped; “if Shenseea deh pon Donda me nuh wa hear unnu call up her name inna nuh likkle small fry argument.”
Her manager Romeich got in on the act as well when he took to Instagram to laud this latest development “Truth is the only thing you get away with Shenseea. Happy weekend my IG family. Yard Gyal voice out th re in the world, bib big look. Shengyeng Boss you work hard so let the world see and listen you work,” he said.
