Silento charged with murder in cousin’s shooting death

Rapper Silento was arrested and charged Monday in connection with the murder of his cousin.

Silento, known for his hit song Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae), was held in DeKalb County, in Atlanta.

He was later taken to the county jail and charged with murder in the shooting death of his cousin, Frederick Rooks, on January 21.

A police statement did not give details on the circumstances surrounding his arrest. The Atlanta rapper is being held without bail.

Reports are that Rooks was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds around 3:30 am in the Panthersville community in the county.
