American R&B singer Solange Knowles came out swinging as she took to social media to deny whispers in the rumour mill that she was having an affair with her manager John Brogaard.
The Houston, Texas songbird made headlines all weekend following the news of her split Alan Ferguson that shocked the entertainment world just as the pair’s 11-year relationship crumbled.
In a series of since-deleted tweets, the ‘Don’t Touch My Hair’ singer laid it all out, not that she needed to put the cheating rumours to rest, but rather to remind everyone that she had nothing to hide.
“Yo, John [Bogaard] is my former co-manager y’all gotta chill. I’m not about to be silenced into letting complete lies narrate my life. To take my words ‘my body left me with no choice but to listen and be still’ after speaking about my health journey…which has already been painful enough and turn [it] into an interpretation of unfaithfulness is just…wow,”— Solange, in a series of since-deleted tweets.
“I hate to even give this energy, but I will not let something so untrue follow me when I’ve tried to lead my life in truth. I hope y’all spread this with the same conviction and energy that [you] did that false narrative. Much love,” the 33-year-old added.
Solange’s rant came just days after a touching Instagram post, confirming her split with Ferguson, who she married back in 2014. The two separated earlier this year.
“(sic) the past 2 years have brought me more physical and spiritual transition and evolution than ever before my body left me with no choice but to listen and be still within that stillness, i begin my journey in confronting my worst enemy, fear,” she began.
“(sic) 11 years ago i met a phenomenal man who changed every existence of my life. early this year we separated and parted ways, (and tho it ain’t nan no body business ?) i find it necessary to protect the sacredness of my personal truth and to live in it fully just as I have before and will continue to do,” Solange continued.
Many of Solange’s fans were happy she decided not to fall into the narrative and live on her terms.
Others weren’t so forgiving and contributed to the rumours of infidelity, which Knowles vehemently denies.
