Dancehall artiste Spice has come forward to defend herself after a video surfaced online with her seemingly rolling her eyes when Megan Thee Stallion was collecting an award at the BET Hip Hop Awards on the weekend.
Megan was collecting the award for the ‘Best Mixtape’ at the event that was held at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center in Atlanta on Saturday.
The show was aired on Tuesday night, and soon after the show was viewed, fans of the rapper took to social media, drawing attention to the moment Spice allegedly rolled her eyes at the Hot Girl Summer rapper.
“Why did Spice just roll her eyes at Meg?? Why you hating suh #Hiphopawards,” one social media user said. Another person added: “So nobody seen Spice roll her eyes at Megan winning. What was the point #HipHopAwards.”
Spice quickly took to Instagram to refute the claims and also show love to Megan.
“@theshaderoom The noise from everyone else makes it difficult to hear what I’m saying, so CBS46 please release this interview so everyone can hear who I was most excited to see because I was talking about @theestallion all night, how I loved the way she worked them thighs and was also Joking that I need a twerk battle. SMH. I don’t know who I rolled those eyes for, but it def wasn’t for Meg. I know the whole mixtape. A mus seaside mi born. #saltbad,” Spice captioned a video of an interview with CBS46.
Spice then followed up with another video proving that she really is a fan of Megan.
“Y’all know I always have my receipts. Thanks @theonlyKayla and there are other videos out there with me saying @theestallion was who I was most excited to see, now bye. JUST TAG MEGAN so I can do my twerk battle,” Spice said.
