Spice defends thank-you post to Jada Kingdom, says there was no shade

Dancehall artiste Spice doesn’t have time for silly squabbles.

Dancehall artiste Spice has moved to defend her post thanking Jada Kingdom for recognising her influence on her growing career after backlash and accusations of ‘shade throwing’.

The entertainer caught wind of the commotion caused over comments she made yesterday after younger peer Jada Kingdom acknowledged her as a mentor in stage performance.

The post read in part, “Thanks @jadakingdom your appreciation means alot to me. In all my years in this industry I’ve never been tagged by a female artist to say they watched and learned anything from me. You told me even on Club house that you use to sit and watch my performances and look at you now, mashing up every where you go…”

Soon enough, Shenseea’s Shenyeng posse found archive posts of the Blessed artiste praising Spice for teaching her how to “really attack a beat.” For this reason, several social media users blasted Spice for being shady to the Romeich Major artiste. Ironically, Shenseea also unfollowed Spice’s account yesterday.

But Spice thinks her post was taken out of context, and stressed a portion of her quote in an Instagram Story.

“‘I’ve never been tagged by a female artist to say they watched and learned anything from me. You told me even on Club house that you use to sit and watch my performances and look at you now’, end quote,” she started. “How is this a lie or shade. Y’all twist words to reflect what you want. I’m way to successful to be arguing over dumb sh*t. #Goodnight.”

Fans have commended the artiste for defending her post.

“I don’t see how wat she said is any shade,” one user said. “Long time unnu did want dem fi beef unnu get it now.”

“The Queen has spoken. Weh dem name deh did just want a reason fi fallout ya man.”

“Time fi uno come off a di lady back now man.”

“People read without understanding.”

Others are tired of Spice being in some drama every other week.

“For a celebrity Spice love the bagga. Some things she can mek slide still.”

“She’s so successful and still need recognition from upcoming artistes? Suppose the girl never learn ntn from har?”

“Stop argue with u baby fada too, we the people are tired.”
