To close out the band launch period, Xaymaca delivered an unforgettable showcase of its highly anticipated costume designs at the National Indoor Sports Centre in St Andrew on Friday night.
With the theme being ‘Playlist’, music had a major role in the presentation that included dancehall, hip hop and soca.

Trae Bennett, the marketing coordinator for Xaymaca, explained that this year’s theme is a celebration of songs and this was shown in the costumes.
“Playlist is a culmination of our series of events… Playlist is a selection of songs, costumes and everything that you experience with excitement and fun,” he told BUZZ.

Upon entry, soca lovers were greeted by decorated boards depicting invariable musical messages capturing the essence of its ‘Playlist’ theme. And the disc jocks – including Richie Ras, JW, Ovadose, Aaron Fingal and Bloodline Franco – certainly enhanced the theme with their musical abilities.

Although the soca lovers partied up a storm from the beginning of the event, the costumes did not take the stage until 1 a.m.
With little décor around the venue, the well-lit stage accompanied by laser lights were enough to plunge patrons into a musical kingdom. In addition to the models, patrons were treated to short dance performances to introduce several costumes.
