Vybz Kartel drops surprise album, ‘X-Rated’

Incarcerated dancehall artiste Vybz Kartel released a surprise album, X-Rated, over the weekend.

The nine-track drop arrived without promotion or fanfare, less than three months after the release of his last project, Dancehall Royalty.

The prolific deejay shared the news via his Instagram account, allonf with the caption ** NO PROMO ** JUST DROPPED! F**k youtube who continue freezin my views. Di 3 piece law suit coming!!!!!”

The roughly 19-minute album includes tracks Molynes Road and Ski Trip and so-called “skits” which double as intros to the two named songs.

The unexpected album comes shortly after Kartel released three projectsTo Tanesha ( January, 2020), Of Dons & Divas  (June, 2020) and Dancehall Royalty (January, 2021) in a calendar year,
