Wakanda Forever: Is Beyoncé joining Black Panther?

Beyoncé may be the latest celebrity on her way to the fictional, technologically advanced African nation of Wakanda.

At least that’s what the grapevine is saying. According to reports, the Crazy in Love singer is in talks with Disney, Marvel’s parent company, for a US$100 million deal to work on three movies, including the Black Panther sequel.

Now, while nothing has been confirmed, that hasn’t stopped people from speculating whether she will be in the movies or on the production end, or possibly both.

Beyonce voiced the character of Nala on Disney’s The Lion King remake.

It wouldn’t be the first time Queen Bey is working with the Mouse House, as many will remember her as the voice of Nala on last year’s blockbuster The Lion King remake. She also recorded the movie’s soundtrack, The Gift, which spawned the critically acclaimed song Spirit.

That deal is said to have banked the multi-hyphenate performer a cool US$25 million, but that’s small change compared to the film’s global intake of US$1.65 billion.

While not everyone is agog at the thought of the Obsessed actress joining the cast of the Black Panther franchise, or in any film tbh, that has never stopped her from racking up those film credits.

To quote a legend herself, “You ready?!”
