The rumours are false BUZZ Fam, The Ellen DeGeneres show is not being cancelled.
The speculation comes on the heels of allegations that Ellen was fostering a toxic workplace. According to a Buzzfeed report, this resulted in The Ellen DeGeneres Show losing advertising and celebrity bookings.
The talk show was then put on pause after Ellen tested positive for coronavirus.
It was then expected to start production again on January 4, 2021. But this was delayed because of the pandemic. “Due to the COVID-19 surge in Los Angeles County, and for the continued safety of our staff and crew, The Ellen DeGeneres Show will push production by a week,” a spokesperson for Telepictures, the show’s producer, said in a statement to Deadline.
Other than Ellen, no cases had been reported amongst the Ellen staff.
But the show is coming back.
Back in May 2019, DeGeneres had confirmed that she had signed a new deal to continue her show through 2022.
The rep also told people that she show will resume with a virtual audience on Monday, January 11.
