Beenie Man’s daughter embraces her bisexuality

Beenie Man’s daughter, Ashley-Jade Davis, is celebrating pride month as a member of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community.

The singer/registered nurse made a post on her Instagram page on Tuesday (June 22) embracing her sexuality.

“For those of you who were not aware, I’m BISEXUAL,” she wrote.

“I realized I was a little different from the typical Jamaican girl pitney when I couldn’t wait to head to the locker rooms just so I could watch the girls change. It’s something I had to hide around my family and some friends as well. Today, I embrace who I am. I wouldn’t change a thing,” she added.

Davis sealed the post using the hashtag #happypridemonth.

Ironically, her father rose to prominence in an era when dancehall was infamous for its violent anti-gay lyrics.

The deejay later in 2011 apologized to the LGBTQ community for his homophobic lyrics, citing his personal evolution.

It was Beenie who brought attention to Ashley-Jade’s page yesterday, following a series of Story posts where he highlighted some of his children.

Ashley-Jade was the only child tagged and he adorned the post with the caption, “Look at my beautiful daughter… they grow up so fast.”

She subsequently reposted her dad’s Story and followed it up with another post, letting people know that she’s happy with her life.

“My daddy rich. My mama holds me down. My man fine ASF & having my bank account on hefty. The people I consider my friends got my loyalty til the end. Life is good, ” she said.

Based in Georgia, The United States, Ashley-Jade isn’t new to the spotlight, in fact her father used to bring her onstage to perform with him from as early as age 10.

He’s been a pivotal figure in her artist development ever since.

Ashley-Jade made her recording debut in 2017 with a collaboration with her father dubbed Super Dad.

However, the 25-year-old seems to be more focused on nursing than music lately, though she did remind folks of her talent in a singing post in February.
