Can a man tell if his woman is being unfaithful?

When it comes to infidelity, it is said that men cheat more often but that women are better at hiding it. With the recent spate of DNA drama that has befallen the Jamaican women, it seems that the secret is only safe until a man asks for a paternity test. It is only then that many will realise that cheating is an equal opportunity problem and both sexes are guilty.

Statistically, men are more likely than women to cheat. According to data generated from a 2017 General Social Survey in the United States: 20 per cent of men and 13 per cent of women reported that they have been unfaithful during their marriage.

If local statistics were available, chances are the numbers on both sides would be higher. Many Jamaican men would claim that what they do is not cheating but simply helping out the female population since good men are in short supply. Like seriously?

Good luck, Chuck

While they do their Don Juan impersonation, women are moving in stealth with their actions. This is what most men dread since the general sentiment is men who give ‘bun’ just cannot accept when the shoe is on the other foot. Studies have shown that while the male species will be bad generally, it is when a woman becomes more financially independent, that she begins to act more like a man with respect to infidelity.

So, how can a man know that he is getting bun? He cannot. There is no litmus test to prove that he is being ‘horned’. And despite the old wives tale that he should check her ‘underneath’, that is nonsense as the female private part is strong, durable and most of all elastic. If it can bounce back after having a baby, what makes you think it cannot bounce back after half hour (if that long!) of sexual intercourse? And if she does kegels, then good luck in finding that out!

Sticking to routine

Checking her body or sniffing around will not generate any real clues either. A woman will always bathe and keep with the same soap, perfume and body spray she has on her dresser at home. Chances are a duplicate set is in her car or handbag. Additionally, if she generally gets home at a certain time, you best believe that will not change, and she will still have dinner prepared for her man when he gets home.

The long and short of it is that a smart woman will not disrupt her routine significantly and may not even make her best friend aware of her actions, as she recognises that the less people who know, the better. Plus, a friend may spill the beans if they have a falling out.

A cunning woman will have her fun far enough away from home but not so far that it takes hours to journey there and back. She will choose a time when her spouse is least likely to check on her, and she will not make it that frequent to where he will begin to question her whereabouts. Yes, her actions may not give it away, so her partner may have to resort to tracking her phone or even cracking it open.
