Creating a routine is critical to your success in life. That’s according to the founder of We Inspire Women, Cortia Bingham. She was among a group of panellists at the Branson Centre of Entrepreneurship Caribbean Summit on Wednesday.
Bingham told the room full of entrepreneurs that she is now where she is in business because of the habits she has cultivated throughout the years.
“How you start your day is critical.”— Cortia Bingham
“I’m a strong believer in creating good habits because there are some things in your life that you need to be on autopilot to survive,” she said.
Starting your day the right way
If you’re not exactly a morning person, then Bingham believes it’s time you start practising to become one.
“How you start your day is critical. That energy that you wake up and cultivate is going to be very critical in how you manoeuvre life,” she said.
“My morning starts off with reading. I understand that we have to continually develop self because there are many people who are very smart but they are not able to adapt to life and circumstances.”
Bingham added that exercise should also be a big part of one’s routine.
She added: “Even if I don’t feel like getting up today and go to the gym, I’ve already created the habit, so every day I do 30 minutes in the gym,” she said.
“As fabulous as we are and as bright as we are, if we are not taking care of the vessel, we can’t fulfil our promise and our purpose. When you are sick, you cannot work.”
Build a strong network
And, BUZZ fam, sometimes, it’s who you know that matters.
“There are people who I can call, very influential people, that only came from the fact that the network has been created,” she said.
What’s your brand?
It comes down to this; knowing who you are, and having your actions reflect that.
“Your brand is everything. There are people who I can call because of my brand. It stands out as one of integrity, and the core values are there,” she said.
