It seems a date has been set for reggae icon Frederick ‘Toots’ Hibbert to be laid to rest at the National Heroes Park in Kingston.
According to a source, November 8 is the date that has been set for the burial.
“Plans are in an advanced stage… Prior to the interment, there will be viewings in Treadlight district in Clarendon and the National Arena in Kingston,” a family member, who requested anonymity, told The Jamaica Observer.
This is good news for many who were disappointed with the way in which his scheduled burial was handled earlier this month.
Following a service on October 15, the legend was slated to be interred at the Dovecot Memorial Park in St Catherine. But those plans had to be abandoned when no one could present the permit required for him to be buried.
Luckily, Olivia ‘Babsy’ Grange, the Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, later stepped in, stating that Toots would be laid to rest at the National Heroes Park.
