Eddie Murphy will be inducted into the NAACP Image Awards Hall of Fame.
The distinction was announced by the NAACP today (March 11) and will see Murphy inducted during a ceremony on March 27.
The achievement is the latest feather in the actor-comedian’s cap after the release of his Coming 2 America sequel to Prime Video last Friday.
Murphy will be among esteemed company with the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Stevie Wonder and Sidney Poitier being previous inductees.
The honour is given to people who are seen as pioneers in their fields and who have helped to shape “the profession for generations to come”.
The NAACP Image Awards will be simulcast on BET, MTV, VH1, MTV2, BET HER and LOGO.
