Several persons employed to Gwyneth Paltrow’s Health and Wellness company, Goop, were on the receiving end of the psychedelic mushroom experience when they were sent to Jamaica.
This was revealed in the Netflix series, ‘The Goop Lab’ which follows some of the staffers at the facility as they try various healing methods such as acupuncture among others.
“It felt like she received five years worth of treatment in the space of five hours.”
However, the first episode in the series showcased the visit to Jamaica where psilocybin is legal and where persons were treated to a ‘magic mushroom’ experience.
The staffers who came, all had varying reasons but it seems that the results indicated a level of success. One recipient of the experience was quoted as saying that it felt like she received five years worth of treatment in the space of five hours.
And what exactly did they receive? Three grams of the product in real form during a ceremony hosted by trained guides of the Multidisciplinary Association of Psychedelic Studies. That amount was enough to provide for a full-fledged trip.
This could possibly be a new method of treatment in Jamaica for anxiety and other mental illnesses and reduce the dependency on regular drugs and talk therapy.
In the meantime, Paltrow’s series is getting a bit of flack for its authenticity and depiction of the various methods of alternative medicine. BUZZ Fam have you seen any of the episodes? Let us know what you think in the comments.
