Healthy lifestyle being promoted through Burger King 5K and Relays

Restaurant Associates Limited (RAL), operators of Burger King in Jamaica, will host the 21st annual Burger King 5K and Relays on Sunday, October 13, in Portmore.

The Burger King 5K and Relays, one of the longest-running distance events in Jamaica “continues to promote healthy lifestyle through competitive distance running. BK’s 5K is the original ‘road race’ home for student athletes, as well as professional and amateur distance running athletes,” according to Sabrena McDonald Radcliffe, Head of Sales & Marketing, RAL.

The race, which begins and ends at Burger King in Portmore Mall, is high on the running calendar of many high school athletes, track clubs and corporate teams.

Participants in the Burger King 5K and Relays will vie for $200,000 in cash and prizes. Beginning at 6 a.m., the race will feature a 5K Run/Walk and 4 x 1500m Relay. Each finisher will receive a championship medal and the high school with the most entries will win $50,000.

Post-race giveaways, dance-offs and other competitions will be hosted by popular media personality Jenny Jenny.
