It wasn’t Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip who wondered “how dark” royal baby could be

Meghan Markle with Oprah Winfrey during last evening sit-down interview.

As the world continues to reel from the revelations of Megan Markle and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah Winfrey, the queen of talk has moved to clarify one thing: Queen Elizabeth and her husband Prince Philip did not make the comments about the couple’s son, Archie’s, complexion.

Winfrey made the disclosure today on CBS This Morning where she said Harry wanted to clear the air on that, if she had a chance.

She said, “He did not share the identity with me, but he wanted to make sure I knew and if I had the opportunity to share it that it was not his grandmother nor his grandfather that were a part of those conversations.”

First mentioned by Markle, who declined to give names, the former Suits star said sharing the identity would be “very damaging”.

Harry, who joined his wife an hour into the interview, also declined to provide names.

In their first interview since stepping away from royal life, Meghan revealed that there were “concerns and conversations about how dark his (Archie’s) skin might be when he’s born.”

Speculation has been rife online as many viewers of the two-hour programme speculated who could have had that conversation with Harry, with some hazarding guesses at his grandparents, father and brother.
