When you are the world’s second-richest person you are able to make a few charitable donations and that is what Jeff Bezos is doing, donating nearly 100 million dollars to the homeless.
Through his Bezos Day One Fund, the Amazon CEO has made donations to 32 organizations across 23 states in the US to help assist persons who may have fallen on hard times and now live on the streets.
The donations range from $1.5 million to $5 million and will bring the total donation to $98.5 million. This follows on donations made in 2018 when the fund was started. At that time $97.5 million was donated to the worthy cause.
This is part of the billionaire’s plan to donate up to $2 billion to tackle homelessness and assist in the educational development of underprivileged children in low-income communities.
As of 2018, over 500,000 persons in the US were deemed as homeless and this kind of donation is expected to go a far way in helping persons dealing with that kind of situation.
