In a society that elevates married women over single ones; where some women use ‘Mrs’ as if it was a degree designation behind their names and where married women sit together in church, far away from the single gals who are said to be jealous over their great fortune, it is easy to understand why most women are desperate for a ring as they believe it will make them happy.
However, there is absolutely nothing wrong with being single. Being single or as actress Emma Watson describes it, being ‘self-partnered’, does not mean that something is wrong with you.
It just means that you choose to ‘do you’ at the moment and you are content with that. Being single means that you are not needy, independent and understand the philosophy that you may be alone at times but you are not lonely.

Think about it for a second: you can literally do whatever you want. There is no one to tell you no; there is no need to compromise and you definitely do not have to check in with or run anything by anyone.
Your time, life and space are your own. You can go where you want, when you want and dress however you want.
You may be alone at times but you are not lonely.
Single people generally go out more which means you get to meet way more interesting and unique people and hear different perspectives and world views.
You also can pursue your education for longer as there is no pressure to start popping out little rug rats. Therefore, higher education which usually leads to a fatter salary is at your fingertips.
Another advantage of ‘super singlehood’ is that you date more and usually date different kinds of people to keep your options open to see what other people can bring to the table. You have not just settled on the first guy or girl that say they like you.
You are more discerning and way more picky which generally is a good thing, as the older you get being single, you are less likely to settle for a broke or psychotic individual with no future just because they fancy you.
If you are not in a serious relationship or mundane marriage, you do not have added drama in your life. The best thing is, you are not stuck in a relationship or with a person that is not right for you. If you are dating and see the red flags you can say goodbye and go back to living your best life all by yourself.
You shave ‘downstairs’ only when you feel like; wear your ‘granny panties’ or your boxers with the stains and large holes and there is no one to judge, give you side-eyes or make an unkind or uncalled for remark.
In short, there is no need to impress anyone and that is always a plus.
