Looking to escape the internet and cellphone life? Then this town may be for you

Can you imagine living in a world where there is no Wi-Fi and wireless telephone? Well, this has been the case for a small town called Green Bank, and you wouldn’t have guessed it the United States.

Green Banks, in West Virginia, is the national quiet zone for Americans and the quietest place in America. I don’t know about you guys, but I don’t think I could give up my phone, Wi-Fi and even my microwave to move to Green Bank but for some people, it was the best option.

Dozens of Americans who suffer from electromagnetic hypersensitivity move to Green Bank in hopes of getting better. Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity is a disease that is caused by emanating wireless signals from cellphones. What better place to live than an electromagnetic-free town?

Why did Green Bank Ban Wi-Fi and Phones?

In 1958 the quiet zone was established to protect telescopes from electromagnetic frequencies that could cause harmful interference. America’s largest steerable telescope can be found in Green Bank and is undeniably the most powerful link to the cosmos.

Scientists and many other persons have used the Green Bank telescope in search for extraterrestrial life. Talk about Stranger things.

The town of 13,000 square miles is so strict that someone drives around the town listening for verboten wireless signals.  The town, however, has access to the internet that they can use on their computers but that’s as far as it goes. There’s no mobile device to continue their internet indulgences. So, if you’re an internet addict looking for a place to cleanse yourself Green Bank is the place for you.

Living in the quiet zone which is giving me major “Quiet Place” horror vibe is like living in the 1980s. But my question to you BUZZ fam is, do you think you could live in Green Bank for a year?
