After a month in hospital, Prince Philip has returned home. The 99-year-old Duke of Edinburgh is now is in “good spirits” according to a CNN source, following his successful heart surgery.
A statement from Buckingham Palace said the Prince is currently at Windsor Castle.
“His Royal Highness wishes to thank all the medical staff who looked after him at both King Edward VII’s Hospital and St Bartholomew’s Hospital, and everyone who has sent their good wishes,” the statement added.
Prince Philip was first admitted to hospital a month ago for “observation and rest” after being taken ill. It was later revealed that he was being treated for an infection.
