Shakespear D-Dondadda shows diversity on new album

Shakespear D-Dondadda believes his new album shows diversity.

After giving a good account of himself at this year’s staging of Rebel Salute and wrapping a successful three-week tour of Trinidad and Tobago over the summer, St Ann-based recording artiste Shakespear D-Dondadda continues to up the ante as the year draws to a close with the release of a new album.

Titled Wake Yuh Up, the ten-track anthology that was released on October 4 has no collaborations. Instead, the burgeoning star uses the platform to showcase his lyrical versatility and musical depth to a steadily growing fan base. Best known for the buzz-worthy singles Put Me Out Deer and Sun Still Shines, Shakespear D-Dondadda hopes his audience will appreciate the effort that was invested in the project.

“This album has something for everyone. It’s very diverse. I tried to cover a range of topics from love, life, hardship, happiness and even some social commentary. Whether you work in a corporate office or just a common man in the street, there is a song on the album you will appreciate,” Shakespear said.

Shakespear D-Dondadda believes his album will be enjoyed by a wide range of people.

Affirming his sentiment, DoseUp Entertainment, who manages the artiste added: “The album is a mix of emotions that dig deep into your soul regardless if you’re a street thug or someone from the upper echelon of society.”

Executively produced by Trigga Happy Sound and distributed by Destrokids, the album is available in digital format on all major platforms worldwide.

Meanwhile, the lead single, Jah Jah, continues to enjoy favourable rotation across the Diaspora.
