Popular TV host Wendy Williams will be taking a break from her talk show following the death of her mother recently.
It was announced late last week that Williams would not be recording any new episodes of The Wendy Williams Show until January.
“Next week, The Wendy Williams Show will air repeats to allow Wendy to travel and be with her family at this time,” said a spokesperson for the show said last week.
“The show will return with original episodes on Monday, January 4th. Debmar-Mercury extends its deepest condolences to Wendy and her family.”
The host’s mother, Shirley Williams, passed away recently, and the TV host confirmed it on her show last Monday, saying she died “beautifully and peacefully” and that she did not “suffer”.
“My mom passed away many, many, many, many weeks ago,” said 56-year-old Williams.
“You know how you lose track of the day and time? All I know was it was a long time ago. The five of us, my mom, dad, my siblings, the five of us — she will always be here.”
