British reality TV star Zara Holland fined US$12,000 for breaching coronavirus quarantine in Barbados. She was handed the fine when she appeared in court on Wednesday morning.
Holland pleaded guilty to breaching the country’s COVID-19 protocols when she left the Sugar Bay Hotel where she was staying before she received her COVID-19 test results.
Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes ordered her to pay the fine in seven days. If Holland fails to pay the fine, she will spend the next nine months in prison. The 26-year-old former Love Island is currently out on $20,000 bail with a surety to guarantee that the fine is paid.
