103-y-o among Jamaica’s 329 COVID cases; positives top 18,000

Jamaica recorded 329 coronavirus cases over the past day to blow past the 18,000 infected mark.

The island’s total stands at 18,237,  taking just four days to add over a thousand new positives since the last thousand-case milestone on Sunday.

Among the new cases are 137 males and 191 females with ages ranging from one to 103 years old.

Kingston and St Andrew reported the most cases at 105, followed by St James (60), St Catherine (59) and Manchester (33).

There was also one more death, taking fatalities to 363. The deceased is a 61-year-old male from Westmoreland.

Fifty more recoveries were reported by the Ministry of Health and Wellness, pushing the total to 12,456. There are 5,280 active cases on the island.

Hospitalisations now stand at 196 with 26 patients considered moderately ill and another 18 are critically ill.
