230 Jamaican cops have caught COVID-19

Of the 8,067 COVID-19 cases recorded since the virus entered the country in March, 230 have been members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF).

This was revealed by Police Commissioner Major General Antony Anderson during a Ministry of National Security virtual press briefing on Wednesday afternoon.

He said that of the 11,000 active members of the force, 230 have tested positive for COVID-19. So far, 171 cops have recovered while there are 68 active cases.

Anderson also said that 239 members of the JCF are now in quarantine.

Jamaica recorded 78 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, bringing the tally to 8,067. The country has also recorded 160 deaths linked to the virus, after nine fatalities were documented in the last 24 hours
