5.6 Magnitude earthquake recorded off the coast of Barbados

A 5.6 magnitude earthquake was recorded Monday (March 29) near Barbados, according to the University of the West Indies Seismic Research Center.

The earthquake, which occurred around 2:35 a.m, struck at a shallow depth of 10 km beneath the epicenter near Crane, Saint Philip, Barbados.

Preliminary seismic data suggests that the quake did not cause any significant damage, however some Bajans, living closer to the epicenter reported feeling light vibrations in the area.
