Barcelona FC had a horrible display against Slavia Parque causing fans to boo them as they left the pitch. Catalan fans were left disheartened after being held to a 0-0 draw against Slavia in a Champions League at home match Tuesday (Nov 5).
The five-time European champions had defeated Prague only two weeks prior, concluding the game with a 2-1 victory and fans had hoped for an even more impressive showing to boost morale as they looked to bounce back from their 3-1 loss to Levante in La Liga.
Barcelona was very close to taking the lead in the 35th minute when Lionel Messi’s goal attempt rebounded off the top corner of the goalframe. Further attempts to gain the advantage came when Arturo Vidal scored early in the second half of the match. However, the frustration built as this goal was ruled as offside.
Ondrej Kolar, visiting goalkeeper produced a commendable performance as he prevented onslaughts from close range by Messi and Roberto in the second half.
Barca defender Clement Lenglet in response to upset fans said, ” It’s a difficult moment for us but the fans have the right to express how they feel and it’s up to us to deal with it.”
Despite Barcelona’s performance, they lead the group on eight points after four games, while Slavia are bottom with two.
