Minister of Tourism, Edmund Barlett is calling for the establishment of a global body to deal with travel advisories to destinations around the world.
Speaking at the World Travel Market in London, Barlett said that the global body would be able to adjust advisories to paint a true picture of what is happening.
He said it is significant for countries like Jamaica in which tourism is a major factor in the development of the economy.
The plea was made in light of recent advisories by the United States of America (USA) and Canada, warning citizens to be cautious when visiting some Caribbean countries, including Jamaica.
Bartlett said that while these advisories have not affected Jamaica severely, it has impacted other countries.
