Camperdown kept in the qualification race for the next round of the ISSA/Digicel Manning Cup schoolboy football competition on Tuesday (Nov 5), when they defeated Charlie Smith 4-0 at Stadium East in the quarterfinals.
Shaquille Bradford scored a hat trick for Camperdown, with his first coming on the stroke of halftime, the second in the 65th minute and the final goal in the 84th. Shawn Daley had opened the scoring in the 27th minute.
Camperdown join defending champions Kingston College (KC) and Wolmer’s Boys’ School on three points in Group G of the quarterfinals. Camperdown moved ahead of Wolmer’s in the points standings on goal difference.
KC lead with a goal difference of five, with Camperdown on three and Wolmer’s 1. The top two teams from the group will advance to the semifinals, with Charlie Smith only having a mathematical chance of advancing. Wolmer’s and KC were scheduled to play the second match at the same venue on Tuesday, which could change the position of the standing at the end of the day.
